Notifications are the short messages your phone shows when an app has news for you. A new chat message, a missed call or a bank alert all arrive this way. The problem is that they are easy to lose. You swipe one away by mistake, or the sender deletes the message, and it is gone.
Notification Tracker & Alarms is an Android app that fixes this. It records the notifications your phone shows, so you can read them later.
Step 1: Give the app notification access
The app can only record notifications if you allow notification access. Android keeps this separate from the normal notifications permission.
- Open the app and tap the button to continue when it asks for notification access.
- In the list Android shows, find Notification Tracker and switch it on.
- Confirm the Android warning. It is a standard message shown for every app that reads notifications.
- Go back to the app.
Step 2: Open the History tab
Open the History tab. New notifications appear there as they arrive. You can group them by app or read them one by one.
Notifications that arrived before you installed the app can't be recovered. History starts from the moment you grant access.
Step 3: Search for what you need
If you remember a word from the message, search your history for it. This is faster than scrolling through everything. You can also open a saved notification to see its details.
Step 4: Get an alarm for the important ones
Some notifications you do not want to miss at all. In the Alarms tab, tap + to create an alarm for a sender, an app or a keyword. The alarm can ring even when your phone is in Do Not Disturb.
Optional: Keep your notification panel tidy
With Pro, the app can dismiss notifications you do not want in your panel and still keep a copy in History. Pro also adds the option to keep dismissed notifications in the history.
Privacy
Everything stays on your phone. The app does not upload your notifications anywhere.
Good to know
- The app is free to use. Pro adds unlimited history, alarms and groups, removes ads and adds backups.
- You can change every permission later in Settings > General Settings.
- If a notification is missing, check that notification access is still switched on.
