Many people want to see their notifications as soon as they arrive, in one place, and not miss any. Notification Tracker & Alarms does this on your phone. This guide explains what it does in real time and what must be on for it to keep working.
What happens when a notification arrives
The app records the notifications your phone shows you. When a new one arrives, it is added to your History as it comes in. You can read it later, even after you swipe it away.
If the notification matches an alarm you created (a sender, an app or a keyword), the alarm rings. This works even when your phone is in Do Not Disturb.
The app does not make notifications arrive faster. It records what your phone already shows. Everything stays on your phone, and nothing is uploaded.
What you need to switch on
- Notification access. Without it, the app cannot see any notification. See "How to give Notification Tracker notification access".
- The notifications permission. This lets alarms and the app icon badge appear.
- Background activity. Choose Allow when the app offers to run in the background, so Android does not close it.
You can change these permissions later in Settings > General Settings.
Check that it works
- Open the History tab.
- Ask a friend to send you a message, or wait for any app to show a notification.
- The new notification should appear in the list.
Notifications that arrived before you installed the app cannot be recovered. History starts from the moment you grant access.
If new notifications stop appearing
The most common reason is that the phone closed the app in the background, or that notification access was turned off.
- Check that notification access is still on for Notification Tracker.
- Check the background activity setting. See "How to stop your phone from closing Notification Tracker".
