How to allow notifications so alarms and the app badge work

Alarms can't ring without the notifications permission. Learn how to allow it from the app or from Android settings, and what to do if you tapped Deny.

On Android 13 and newer, an app must have your permission to show notifications. Notification Tracker needs it so alarms and the app icon badge can appear.

Steps

  1. When the app asks, tap Allow on the Android prompt.
  2. If you tapped Deny, a message explains that alarms need notifications. Choose Allow notifications to try again.
  3. You can also open Settings > General Settings and tap Notifications for alarms. The row shows Allowed or Not allowed.
  4. If Android doesn't show the prompt again, the app opens its notification settings. Switch notifications on there.

If you don't want alarms

Choose I won't use alarms. The app stops asking, and you can turn the permission on later from Settings > General Settings.
